Paul Brown is an outsider artist originally from South Yorkshire but now residing in Liverpool. Like Stephen “Evil Ed” Geoffrey’s early promise with the Theatre Word Award 1984 Paul was among the winners at the Cadbury’s National Exhibition of Children’s Art in 1989 only to find work for the next thirty years was slow. Undeterred Paul has continued painting in his own DIY Punk style with an eighties video nasty twist and as an artist his goals are to promote progressive politics and on a more personal note raise awareness of mental health issues. Paul works exclusively with acrylics and is influenced by the likes of Henri Rousseau, Charles Schulz, John Pound, Katsuhiro Otomo and Derek Riggs.
